Barely There Pt 2: Cinnamon Sugar

When I started this nail journey, I had no idea that I would be selling press ons, which meant I had no idea that I would have to come up with unique and artsy nail designs, which I would then name like tv shows, and then make subsequent parts for sets in that collection! I don't always set out to make a part 2, but by the time the set is done I know it's a part 2. In this case, I knew it was going to be a part 2 when I ordered two nude colors that were very similar to each other. The Cinnamon Sugar name came because after I finished I was strongly reminded of cinnamon sugar on the top of donuts.

Naming my sets are a simple thing, but it elevates my brand. Having Part 2's and remixes to my original sets causes my brand to stand out in ways that will make me easily recognizable. Barely There is aptly named for there are two shades that are so close the difference is "barely there." And before you ask, yes, I DO think I'm so clever!

Customer Inspiration/Appreciation

Custom sets are always a collaboration between me, the customer, AND the nails! It always excites me so much when a customer gives me a set, and their set goes on to become popular in my shop! I even got the idea to name peoples custom sets after them!

I'm always so excited to receive custom orders, so when my customer sent me an inspo picture I was a little apprehensive. She sent me a curved 90's set and I HATED curved nails! Also, I do not sell nails I don't try myself, especially with a shape like curved so I definitely wasn't about to waste her time or mine. However she also hated curved nails, so I got to make the set in square! I was still pretty new to running my business and hadn't thought of the idea to name custom sets after their buyers yet. That's how That's So 90's was born! Personally, I liked how my set came out better than the inspo pic, (I was already better than the salon like I knew I would be!) and fast forward three years later my recreation looks even better than I could have imagined!

As a business owner I am always open to trying new things, especially when my customers ask me for it. After several inquiries about curved nails, I decided it was time to stop hiding! My first curved set was a nude set, just to try my hand at them. Of course they came out beautiful, but I could not take myself seriously because I felt like a T-Rex. My second attempt I was more excited about, because my my junk nail obsession started from seeing the TikTok girlies with their XL curved junk nails. Those were the only curved nails I ever thought were cute. For the Love of Junk cured my aversion to curved nails entirely.

Now that the sight of curved nails no longer made me wan to throw up, I started to think of sets to make curved, and it HIT me! I had to create one of my OG sets as its OG inspiration picture! It really feels like a full circle moment to me, and my nails STILL look better than the original inspiration pic.
